My children are getting a wood kitchen set for Christmas (Shhhh!). So I have been on the lookout for the perfect play food to go with their set. I decided to start saving some of our food containers that they can use for their set. The small cereal boxes, small velveta cheese boxes, baby food jars, pint sized milk cartons. These are all perfect items for a kitchen set and can be easily replaced if stepped on! Just tape the boxes shut and off your child goes. And of course I have seen lots of tutorials out there in the blogosphere on how to make felt play food - there is a Felt Food Round-Up over at One Pretty Thing. So I may have to start a production line on bacon, eggs, toast and more!
What have you done for your childrens kitchen sets?

I try to host my parties for under $100. I want them to be festive and fun, but not break the bank! Most of my parties include free printables for your use. Please remember, they are for personal use only!
