2 HOW-TO: Adding an image header

May 30, 2010

Agape Love Designs & Photography wanted to know "how to get a custom banner on my blog! I know how to make/design one. I have one ready! I just don't know what code to use to put it on my blog!"
SO, if you already have a jpg, gif or png image ready to use as your header (Blogger recommends a width of 600 px - but you will want wider for a three column blog. I don't recommend going beyond 200 px high), go to your blog Layout tab. Click edit in the very top box (where your blog name appears).

To add your header click Browse. Select your image. For placement choose Image instead of title and description. If you already sized your header image properly then do not click Shrink to Fit. If you are unsure if it will fit properly you can go ahead and click it.

Click save and you are done!

Keep the questions coming! Is there anything you've been wanting to do?  Saw something cool on someone else's blog but can't figure out how to do it on yours?  Send me an email and maybe you'll see a tutorial on your subject!

  1. Yes!!!
There is something that I want to put on my blog and I can't for the life of me figure it out.
I have tried to simulate the html but with no luck.
I would love to learn how to make a group of small buttons for my twitter, facebook and email like the ones on this blog:

The follow/subscribe area in the top left hand corner.
    Thanks!!
