20 Black Nail Polish - Love it or Hate it?

I have a confession to make: I don't have a craft to share today.  I've been very busy with this and that and even busier with that and this, so there hasn't been much crafting going on.  I'm not saying there is none, because I have definitely been working on my son's 3rd birthday party, but I'm just not ready to share.  SO, today we're are going to discuss nail polish.
Since recently regrowing out my fingernails I've gotten back into painting them once a week.  While discussing nail color at work with the only other female, we came upon the subject of Black.  I must confess as a teenager I was one to wear my hair pink and my nails black.  Although my tastes have matured since then I started thinking about how I would really like to paint my nails black.  My co-worker said she had been thinking about it too.  She saw the Kardashian sisters wearing it and really liked the look.  We both sort of looked at each other and were like, can we pull it off? 

I decided, hell ya, why not?  I want to do it, so I'm gonna (must have been my rebellious side showing through).  I went to the store and picked out my black nailpolish and was so anxious to get home to put it on.
And you know what?  I LOVE IT!  It won't be my every week I'm gonna wear this color color, but every now and again if I'm getting dressed up to go out, I might just slap on a coat or two!
So now that you have been up close and personal with my nails, what do you think?  Is it a To Do or Not To DO?

Well I Googled it and it is definitely a DO!  Many of the hottest celebs add black polish to classy up an otherwise grungy look or to add some edge to a soft feminine style.

  1. I love it. My favorite these days is navy blue or burgundy but I might look into black in the future!

  2. I've never personally done black but I do love the super dark purple that OPI makes. I don't know what it's called because I don't actually own the bottle but I get it probably every 3rd visit to the pedi place and love it every time. Right now I'm wearing this sort of shimmery orangey pink colour, not at all typical for me so I think that has a bigger shock value than black ever would!

  6. I love it. I tried it a few years ago when I noticed some more"mature" celebs sporting it. It looks best w/ shorter nails (I think). I've tried variations of it and really like them all.

  9. I have been following your blog for awhile now and realized that I don't think I've ever left a comment. So here goes....I love black nail polish!! Right now my nails are pink but I really like the dark polish look. Another color that is really great in my opinion is the dark rich brown color. I think that now that we are "grown up" and can't really have fun with our appearance as much as when we were younger that nail polish should be our adventurous outlet! So go ahead and rock the black polish! :)

  10. I have a friend who wears black polish, and I think it looks fantastic. I like bright colors for my toes, but if I ever manage to stop biting my fingernails, I'm gonna give black polish a try.

  14. I love it! In fact, I have it on my toes right now. I started working it into my roation a few years back and at first I thought it would be a fit goth, but I ended up LOVING it because it goes with everything!

  15. I must be the odd man out on this one. I will say that I've seen worse on toes before. ie... the french manicure!!!! I never understood that phase. To me that just looks like you need to clip your toe nails & you aren't very hygenic.

  17. Now you need to go to the dollar bin at Michaels and buy the rhinestones. Some are already "shapes" (ie: flowers, swirls etc) And they look so neat on your fingers and or toes.

  20. I'm totally late on this one but I saw it on your "You might also like"
    I wore black nail polish all the time in HS and now I usually wear it on my toes and I'm not a rocker chick- more like Plain Jane.
