I fell in love with Alisa from The Sweet Life’s checkbook covers.

Isn’t it gorgeous?!? LOVE the fabric.  My poor little checkbook was floating around uncovered *gasp* in my purse until I decided to give this a try.
She was even so kind to share a tutorial with us.
Here is my end-result (in only 30 mins!):

Not too shabby!  I decided to forego the ruffle and added a singed flower embellishment instead.  I don’t have a plastic checkbook cover, just strictly the checks, so I cut out a piece of cardstock and added it to the top flap to make it more sturdy.  I also keep a business card in there, because that’s good business sense.
Lastly, I have duplicate checks, so I sewed a little fabric “check” as my divider.  Now my checks are protected and adorable (and I’ve received tons of compliments when I pull it out too)!
