7 HOW TO: Set-Up a Quick and Easy Thumbnail Tutorial Page

August 15, 2010

I've had lots of people email me asking how I set up my Tutorial and and Linky Party Pages, so I figured I would share the secret: I used LINKY TOOLS for my Tutorial Page and INLINKZ for my Linky Party Page.

I set-up different lists, for example on my Tutorial page I have a Tutorial List, a Blog Tutorial List, an Other Original Ideas List, and a Parties List, and a My Take on Others Creative Ideas List.  So that is 5 lists that I made within LINKY TOOLS and then added the html code provided in order that I wanted it to show up on the page.  I set the end date for the day I was entering the links so that it would close out at the end of the day (INLINKZ you can even specify the time you want the link list to close).

Whenever I want to add more I go into LINKY TOOLS and click Edit List (next to the list I want to edit).
Now select the stop date (today) and click save.
Now when you go back to your site you will see that you can enter more links (you don't have to recopy the html code or anything - it automatically updates on your site).  Add in your new tutorial, etc.  You can then go BACK into Linky Tools and change the date to yesterday if you don't want to your Enter Links Here button to show.

Using the INLINKZ tool is basically the same way.  Now go pretty-up your pages!

  2. Thank you for that! I was wondering how that was done. I've also wondered how you get your line of clickable headings under your main title heading. *hint, hint*

  7. Hey Kim, Thanks for the awesome tutorial and tips. I've got some linky lists up on my blog using Linky Tools. I was wondering if you know of any way to get rid of the words "this linky list is now closed" at the bottom of the list? It just looks a little tacky on my blog and I'd like to get rid of it.
