Hey Everyone I'm Ana
the chick behind  Get Craftin'

Today i am extremely excited to be blog swapping with seven thirty three - - - a creative blog.
If you didn't know i just recently won a blog makeover from Kim and i absolutely love it.
If you haven't checked out the makeover yet go see it. Kim is amazing!
Thanks again Kim.
I'll start by telling you a little about myself...
I'm a happily newlywed.
10 months now, Is that still a newlywed?
It sure feels like it!
I love anything purple and green!
I love creating anything that is simply cute...
for my little apartment...
for myself...
babies (not ours yet):)...
...you name it i love creating!
My favorite crafts are probably girly accessories,
if you stop by my blog you will notice i love headbands...
and jewelry...
I really just love love love anything cute and feminine
especially if i can make it within my newlywed budget(which is not alot).
Also on my blog i do a "What I Wear" post every wednesday.
Where i show you what i wear and give you little fashion tips.
I love to hear what everyone has to say about my choices.
It's really fun.
Check it out HERE!

Today I'm going to share with you one of my favorite previous tutorials.

How to make this fun chandelier drop necklace.

think i speak for all of us when i say
"We L-O-V-E Mod Podge"
Right??
I sure do!!

To make this you'll need your chandelier drop, you can them at your local craft stores...
I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for super cheap!
I started with this....
The drop and some scrapbook paper

Then some mod podge later i got this...

Instead of leaving the back white i applied mod podge to another piece of scrapbook paper  on it...
Then if the bead turns when you wear it it doesn't just show the white part.

I added the bead to an old necklace that i never wore
along with some random charms i had with my jewelry junk.

The necklace was one of those short necklaces...
i prefer my necklaces longer so i just used some of the chains on there already to use it extended.

Final product!

I will defiantly be sporting the necklace i never wore before
around now that it got a makeover!
I love it it's so fun!
You can never have to many necklaces in your jewelry box right?!

I hope you all can stop by my blog and check out other fun tutorials.
Have a grand ol' day!
XoXO

I absolutley ADORE that necklace!  Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us today Ana. :)

Black Nail Polish - Love it or Hate it?

20 comments:
I have a confession to make: I don't have a craft to share today.  I've been very busy with this and that and even busier with that and this, so there hasn't been much crafting going on.  I'm not saying there is none, because I have definitely been working on my son's 3rd birthday party, but I'm just not ready to share.  SO, today we're are going to discuss nail polish.
Since recently regrowing out my fingernails I've gotten back into painting them once a week.  While discussing nail color at work with the only other female, we came upon the subject of Black.  I must confess as a teenager I was one to wear my hair pink and my nails black.  Although my tastes have matured since then I started thinking about how I would really like to paint my nails black.  My co-worker said she had been thinking about it too.  She saw the Kardashian sisters wearing it and really liked the look.  We both sort of looked at each other and were like, can we pull it off?

I decided, hell ya, why not?  I want to do it, so I'm gonna (must have been my rebellious side showing through).  I went to the store and picked out my black nailpolish and was so anxious to get home to put it on.
And you know what?  I LOVE IT!  It won't be my every week I'm gonna wear this color color, but every now and again if I'm getting dressed up to go out, I might just slap on a coat or two!
So now that you have been up close and personal with my nails, what do you think?  Is it a To Do or Not To DO?

Well I Googled it and it is definitely a DO!  Many of the hottest celebs add black polish to classy up an otherwise grungy look or to add some edge to a soft feminine style.

Happy Painting Ladies!

HOW TO: Add a Signature

10 comments:
Would you like to add a signature like mine to every post?

First you will need to create a signature.  You will want to save your image file as a jpg (I use Illustrator, but I hear a lot of non-graphic designers using Picnik to do this).

Once you have an image to use as your signature you will need to upload it.  The easiest way is to create a draft post and insert and image.  Switch to html mode and locate src="image_file_name" You are going to want to copy all of the info in the middle of the quotes.

Go to your Blogger Dashboard and click on Settings.
Click Formatting and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Under Post template type the following:

Click Save Settings and you're done!  Create a new post and you'll see your signature!

Need help creating a signature image?  I do that!  Email me at 733blog(at)gmail.com.

Kitchen Greenery

2 comments:
I was looking for some fake plants in a basket to put over my kitchen cabinets - something like this:
But guess what?  These things are EXPENSIVE!  Even at HomeGoods they are pricey... and I wanted something that looked nice AND real, not some cheap-o version!

So I got my bootie to work and made my own!  I found two rectangular baskets at Joann's for 50% off and also found several fake plants that I really liked and used my 40% off coupons.  I bought two blocks of styrofoam, a little smaller than my baskets, but enough to hold the plant steady, and arranged the plants.
Once I put them above my cupboard I finished arranging the plants so that they fell nicely over the edge without interfering with my cupboard doors.  These cost me $20 total!  SCORE.
I tried to get a full picture with both plants but the lighting was wrong...

I love the way this adds some color above my cupboards but it isn't too crowded.

Happy Decorating!

Looking for todays What are little boys made of? Weekly Link Party?  Go HERE.
I worked with Ana Paula from Get Craftin' on her site redesign and am excited to show you the end result!

Ana Paula just oozes creativity and her blog is really a reflection of her personal style so it was really important to get it right!  She loves clean, crisp, modern designs with a feminine vintage feel. She also wanted three columns but a wide main post column so she can still fit her larger images.  So I had my work cut out for me, but I think we really came up with something to fit those requirements!

So if you haven't already, head over to Get Craftin' to not only check out the design but to also see what Ana Paula has to offer!  I especially love her What I Wore Wednesdays posts, you really get to see how stylish she really is.

Oh and I HAVE to share the signature for her page because I love it too much not to:
Does it get any more feminine vintage that that?!?

Happy Blog Beautifying!

TITLE REQUIRED?!? Issue with Blogger Gadgets

9 comments:

If you have attempted to make changes to a Gadget in Blogger that use to not require a title, you have come across the error message saying that a title is required.  Fear not - according to Google they will be fixing this issue, but what do you do in the meantime?

Put into the title field.  You will have to do this anytime you edit the Gadget until the issue is resolved (not slated to happen anytime this week).
