My Canvas Arrived in the Nick of Time!

3 comments:

My Canvas People canvas arrived on Friday - just hours before we were getting ready to leave for my in-laws!  The canvas was a gift for my MIL, so I was super excited that it arrived in time.  When I had contacted Canvas People about delivery time they were in the heart of Christmas preparation and said they were working like Elves to get them all out in time.  I was so happy that they succeeded!

So in only two weeks I went from a picture on my camera to this gorgeous canvas print:

I upgraded to an 11x14 print - so with the deal I only paid $28 total - including shipping & handling.

My MIL LOVED it and that is what counts.  You have until the 31st to get a free 8x10 canvas, OR you can upgrade like I did and use the $55 towards ANY size canvas.  Just CLICK HERE to create YOUR OWN canvas!

Giving the gift of cold, hard, CASH.

7 comments:
I have two younger brothers and both are saving money for high-ticket items (Guitar AMP and XBox), so for Christmas I am giving each money.  But there is NO WAY I can just give cash in an envelope, so I had to find some creative ways to gift the money.

More Plastic Canvas Items

2 comments:

We had a Christmas party this past Saturday on my moms side of the family and I just HAD to share what my Aunt Michelle made for my son, Mason:

It is a dump truck piggy bank with blocks that spell Mason on one side and our last name on the other!  And the truck ACTUALLY dumps.  He LOVES it.  And it is all made out of plastic canvas and yarn!

The front opens to remove your money.
The back has a little pulley to shut the front "door".
This is what my daughter Cassidy received:

A plastic canvas notebook cover with her name on the front!  She absolutely loves it!  It also came with a package of mechanical pencils.

And my daughter received these plastic canvas blocks that can spell Olivia:

All of the blocks have items inside them that rattle - bells and other sounds.

Great stuff!  Happy Holidays!

HOW TO: Edit your blog from your blog!

7 comments:

Did you know you can edit your blog while you are actually AT your blog?  To be able to do so go to your Dashboard and click Settings.  Under the Basic tab, make sure Show Quick Editing on your Blog? has Yes selected.  Scroll to the bottom and select Save Settings.

See those little tools - anywhere you have placed a gadget in your design screen you will see one of those tools when you are logged into your Blogger account and visit your blog.

Click it - it brings up an edit window for the content in that gadget.  Now you don't ALWAYS have to go to your design screen to make simple changes.

Happy Blogging!

UPDATE:
Keren asked:
"i really miss this feature!! you know one day it was on there and the next day it was gone!!
I have googled and tried everything and still cant get it back! its SO frustrating!!
do you know anything else that might work?
would really really really appreciate it!!!!"

Yes, actually, I do! If you have Internet Explorer with compatibility mode, you want to turn it off. Go to page - Compatibility Mode Settings - uncheck Display all settings in compatibility mode.

DIY Personalized Calendar

5 comments:

I am taking a small vacation next week.  I am hoping to have a post on Monday, but other than that, it will be pretty quiet around here until 12/27!
**********************************
Each year I make calendars for myself, my parents, parent in-laws, and sister-in-law.  I design it in Microsoft Publisher, print it out on cardstock, add a transparency sheet for the cover and then spiralbind it.  Inexpensive, easy and personal!

Here is a look at a few of my in-laws 2011's pages:

Happy Creating!

Hello seven thirty three readers!  I'm Allison from Vintage Pollyanna.  I would love for you to take a moment to come visit me and link up your projects to my Tell Me Tuesday party!
Today I am here to share with you my favorite holiday treat recipe:
IT IS SO GOOD. It is simple and easy and usually can be made with staples that you have on hand in your pantry. I started making it last year and immediately began to get requests for the recipe. I just made it earlier this week for my son's first-ever pre-k concert and the teachers at his school began to ask for it. So here is the recipe! If you are visiting my blog for the first time, be sure to say hello at the end of this post in the comment section.
CHOCOLATE BARK

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Line two baking sheets with tinfoil, and place Saltine crackers in a single layer.

Set a saucepan to medium high and add four sticks of butter.

Then add 3/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup white sugar.

Bring it to boil for just a minute.

Remember those saltines? Pour the butter toffee mixture over the saltines.

Put the sheets in the oven for ten minutes. I rotate the pans at the 5 minute mark. They'll come out all brown and bubbly.

Next get some chocolate, either 2 bags of Nestle morsels, or you can use Hershey Bars. After the sheet pans come out, put the chocolate on top of the crackers, and pop them back in the oven for a couple of minutes--just long enough to soften the chocolate.

Next chop some nuts. Whatever you like. I use that awesome Pampered Chef chopper. Got one? Get one!

Now, take the sheets out of the oven and with a spatula, spread the chocolate evenly over the saltines. (Honestly, I didn't have as much chocolate here as I wanted.) I would have liked to have had twice as much.

Next sprinkle the chocolatey goodness with the nuts. Or if you don't like nuts, skip that step altogether.
Place the baking sheets in the fridge or in a cold place so that they candy can set up for a few hours. After that, peel the bark away from the tinfoil and break into pieces.

Next? enjoy, hoover it like crazy, eat it for three meals a day, put it over vanilla ice cream, what have you. And be prepared to be the baker of the most popular treat at any holiday party you attend!

Enjoy!
