7 Sugar & Spice #51

March 23, 2011

If you like seven thirty three on Facebook (you should), then you know I am going nutso making changes to my house - like looking for new mantle decor, a new entryway storage option and stenciling and wanting to stencil an accent wall.  This becomes a problem when you live in Vermont.  There are no thrifting stores in my area, the big box stores are 40 minutes away (no Target in Vermont at all!), so my options are limited.  And I've exhausted them all trying to find these items so I can get the ideas out of my head!  I think my problem is I get an idea of what I want in my head and then I look for those specific pieces - most likely bypassing even better pieces because I'm looking for that one item (like I want a really cute, small iron bike for my mantle, or even a small, old wire birdcage - I'm very eclectic in my tastes).  Do you guys come up with an idea PRIOR to decorating, or are you able to just go through and browse and piece it all together?  I guess I'm just no good at this!

Onto today's party!

  6. Vermont IS tough as far as stores go. I live in Vermont, too, and the thrifty shopping is hard to come by. I won't complain too much, where I am in Vermont I can get to a Target in NY in about 45 minutes.
