The Easter Bunny is quite the trickster when he comes to visit our home.
I hid your baskets, now where to begin?
Maybe you should check where you hang your coat.
The answer: Hall Closet.
Once there they will find another note:
Nope, not here.
When your hands are dirty and they need a scrub,
You go to the bathroom _______ to make some suds.
The answer: Sink.
There they find this:
Still no basket.
I was very quiet and very sneaky.
I went into your parents room while they were sleeping.
But where, oh where did I put your baskets?
Maybe you should ask Dad where he hangs his pants.
The Answer: Master Bedroom Closet where they will finally reveal their baskets full of goodies and a note telling each to have a very happy Easter!

I love your clues. When my children were small, I always hid their baskets - but no clues. I continued this through college. It was fun to watch them search the old places and difficult to find new places. College roommates and a future husband had to look for theirs as well. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Easter morning just the best!? I really miss those years when my kids were small. My family did this when I was little and I continued the tradition with my own children. I have to say however, YOU are much nicer than I was. I never gave hints and as they got older those little hiding places got REALLY tough. It gave me time to make the great big Easter breakfast I did each year without the kidlets under foot. There were some years I actually hid the baskets inside the dryer or other equally as tough to find spots. My boys were always up for the challenge and had fun or I wouldn't have been such a stinker hiding them so well.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little hints and am sure that helps the kids a little bit. Are they already getting excited about the Easter Bunny coming next week?
One year we had two exchange students who attended a local college and each was matched with a host family they could go visit and learn things from. These students lived on campus but did a lot of things with their host family each week and celebrated the holidays with them. One year we had one from Turkey and another from Georgia (Republic of Russia, not the state) and neither had ever celebrated Easter and were SUPER excited about this tradition of hiding the baskets. Mind you, these were grown women but they were as excited as my young children were, if not more. Because they had never done it before, I made their baskets easy to find. One was actually hiding in plain site behind a rocking chair in my living room. It took her over an hour to find that basket and by the time she did we were all laughing so hard because everyone could see it from any spot in the living room without even getting up. It was that obvious. Then she finally found it and her face was bright red and she joined us in laughing as hard as we had been when she saw how easy it had been for her to find that basket. I had bought them really good chocolates from Fannie May and Ghiardelli so they were totally spoiled and had a blast. Some day I'll tell you about the fiasco at Thanksgiving and having the girls help me make stuffing from scratch and stuffing the bird. LOL HILLARIOUS!
