5 Just sprucing things up!

If you stopped by last week you may have noticed that I spruced things up around here.  I can design for other people no problem, but trying to think of a style and concept for myself is always harder... not sure why, just is!  I've never been really happy with my design, but I also never take the time to sit down and do anything about it.  But last week I finally did and I'm pretty OK with the end result.  I really like that I have my REAL signature too... Yup, folks!  That "Kim" is actually how I sign my name on a day to day basis... let's not try to forge my signature now, mkay? I also really needed to update my profile picture.  The one I was using was a quick shot my hubby had taken while I was standing in my kitchen.  Nothing special.  My photog friend and I haven't been able to meet up to shoot me... my kids always end up in front of the camera instead.  Wonder why?  Probably cause they're cute?

{From Cassidy's Rock Star Glam Birthday Party Photo Shoot} As I was saying, they tend to hog the camera, and I am totally fine with that!  When I first switched up my design I put this picture up:

Since I own a relatively nice camera (Canon Rebel T2i), I asked my cousin Mel to come over and take some shots of me.  She gets me.  My husband doesn't.  He takes pictures of me without checking the angle (you know, to avoid double chins) and so forth.  Mel will be honest and tell me if it is a horrible shot or if I'm trying too hard or giving my pained smile or whatever.  So she came over and we got a pretty OK shot if I say so myself. 

You see that cute little barrette?  I made that.  I used Lil' Luna's super easy Fabric Flower Tutorial.  I made 4 3" circles and 4 2.5" circles and then put together 2 flowers.  Hot glued the smaller flower on top of the larger one, added a button and a barrette and boom!  So sweet. And some outtakes:

If I'm being honest, I kinda like this one... but it also almost looks like I have a "come hither" stare going on... and it doesn't help that it looks like I'm naked (I'm not people, I have a tank top on!).
