Hi All!  Are you having a wonderful Cyber Monday?  This is usually one of my favorite shopping days of the year because I'm a HUGE online shopper (HelloooOOOooo Ebates!), but I had NOTHING to purchase today and really no time to look around, so I have to live vicariously through you guys this year! Anyway, I am finally recovering from the bacterial infection I had last week.  PHEW!  I have never been so sick in my life.  I'm just glad I missed Thanksgiving and not Christmas!  I literally couldn't get out of bed, could you imagine not being able to watch the kids open their presents?  I would cry!  So now that I am slowly on the mend (still EXHAUSTED) I figured I better get some house keeping out of the way. The lucky winner of the Klutz Pom-Pom Monster Book is:

0 My Crafting Space!

In case you missed my crafting space over on Taylor Made... being part of this series has spurred me to want to redo my basement and make it prettier.  The orange walls did not photograph that well - they really aren't that ugly!  We used this color to "warm" up the basement.  Since this space has morphed so much in the last year or two and it is now my steady crafting space/playroom, I'm ready to proceed with a makeover!  It might have to wait until after Christmas, but the ideas are literally BOUNCING around in my head.  UPDATE: My craft room transformation can be seen HERE.  It is TOTALLY different and I am in love.

I must really love Taylor because I CAN'T believe I am sharing my embarrassing crafting area with all of you!  I don't really have a "room" but I have a corner of my finished basement that use to be my work desk, but since I've gone to a laptop I tend to work upstairs more, so I turned my desk into my craft area.

Happy Thanksgiving!  {Gobble, Gobble!}  Today is the first day I've actually forced myself to climb out of bed but I don't I will be eating any feasts today since I still have a temp and haven't eaten more than a toast a day the last four days.  Pretty sure this is the sickest I've ever been and it is horrible.  I miss my kids!  I've literally been sleeping the last 4 days away and haven't seen them except for picking them up at daycare which is a blur and I probably shouldn't have been driving!  Hopefully I'm on the mend and you are all enjoying your families today!

30 Pom-Pom Monsters - A Klutz Giveaway

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know I've been down for the count the last 3 days with an ear infection, viral infection and non-stop migraine.  I haven't been able to get out of bed to check emails, etc.  Please bear with me, especially if you are waiting for design items from me.  I do apologize for the inconvenience.

I loved making Pom-Poms as a child.  I first learned how in Brownies, and if you've been a long time seven thirty three follower, you may even remember I shared a tutorial with you on how to make them.  With my instructions, you get a perfect pom-pom, but the Klutz Pom-Pom Monster Salon book allows you to create perfectly coifed mop tops, afros, pigtails, and mohawks to name a few. Add tiny hair bows, punch-out feet, and foam horns and teeth for the final touches.

7 A Baby Doll Carrier

I have been searching for a baby doll carrier for months for my youngest.  She is a total Baby Doll Girl.  In fact she has over 20 dolls in her bedroom as I type this.  And she plays with them all.  I thought it would be super cute to get her a Baby Bjorn style carrier but can't find any anywhere.  I did find this fantastic Bear Carrier from oliver + s but it is in their book and I didn't feel the need to spend $27.50 when I only wanted the one pattern (but if you are a seamstress check out the book it is pretty cool!). So after a little brainstorming and having no success in finding a tutorial for a good carrier, I ended up coming up with my own.  I kick myself for not taking pictures as I went because this was so easy, anyone could make it! I used scrap fabric, some batting and ribbon and this is the result:

5 A Hunting We Will Go.

A little boy at my sons daycare goes hunting with his dad.  My son really knew nothing about hunting, but now he is making tree stands out of boxes and making finger guns to shoot deer.  Driving home one day he told me that he was going to ask his Grandpa (my FIL) to take him hunting.  We let Grandpa know this and he chuckled.  A few days past and my MIL called and said my FIL asked her if she would mind if they had Mason spend the night on Thanksgiving Eve.  He wants to have him spend the night, cook him breakfast and go out for a hunting expedition.  I thought it was the sweetest thing ever!  We agreed to let him go, but only if he had the appropriate attire, you know, BLAZING ORANGE!  Unfortunately we couldn't find a hunter orange vest for him ANYWHERE!  We even checked the big chain stores.  So, off to the internet I went to find a vest pattern and of course free is best.  I came across Leila & Bens Unisex Vest Pattern and thought it looked super simple.   Hence the result of the Metro Hunter's Vest made of cotton and fleece fabrics:

5 Just sprucing things up!

If you stopped by last week you may have noticed that I spruced things up around here.  I can design for other people no problem, but trying to think of a style and concept for myself is always harder... not sure why, just is!  I've never been really happy with my design, but I also never take the time to sit down and do anything about it.  But last week I finally did and I'm pretty OK with the end result.  I really like that I have my REAL signature too... Yup, folks!  That "Kim" is actually how I sign my name on a day to day basis... let's not try to forge my signature now, mkay? I also really needed to update my profile picture.  The one I was using was a quick shot my hubby had taken while I was standing in my kitchen.  Nothing special.  My photog friend and I haven't been able to meet up to shoot me... my kids always end up in front of the camera instead.  Wonder why?  Probably cause they're cute?

2 Letters from Santa Revisted

My kids and I were driving home from daycare earlier this week.  I was jamming to some music and listening to them chatting in the back seat.  They were jibber-jabbering away and then one of them says "Hmmmm.  I wonder when we'll get our letters from Santa?" and off they went about what the letters would say, and who would get coal and who wouldn't.

Isn't funny the things kids remember each year?  We are going to Santa's Village next weekend, so I'm going to wait until after that, and then I'll print up some letters and get them in the mail.  Can't disappoint them!

Hello all you Seven Thirty Three folks! I’m Tam from Sew Dang Cute Crafts. I just love Kim! Not only is she a creative lady and an amazing blog designer (she did mine),  she’s such a nice person and I’m lucky to call her my friend.
