Since I've been on a skirt making rampage (June Outfit, Simple Skirt, Matching Easter Outfits) I decided to host "Skirt Week" where I will feature 4 pretty easy to follow skirt tutorials per day. There are some great tute's out there from beginner to advanced sewers. These are just a sampling. Stop by, check 'em out and get sewing! Oh and make sure you tell everyone you saw their skirt on seven thirty three! ALSO - Make sure you come back Friday for the Skirt Linking Free-for-All Party where you can show off your amazing skirt creations, and there is a possible goodie involved for participating!
Today is the day for LAYERED SKIRTS!
One: V and Co.'s Ruffle Fabric Skirt - using charcoal cascading ruffle fabric, V and Co. created this amazingly feminine skirt. I actually just made a ruffle fabric skirt for my daughter last week. After I made it I did a Google search to see if anyone else had done so and I came across V and Co's. She did such a great job and she even did up a tutorial for you all! I did mine only slightly differently in the waist band, otherwise, everything else was done the same.
Two: Elle Apparel Lace for Days Skirt - Sateen fabric and beautiful lace results in this stunning pencil skirt! I'm pretty sure Elle Apparel could shoulder skirt week all on her own, so don't be surprised if you see a another tutorial from this super talented blogger this week!
Three: Alisa Burke's Petticoat Skirt - I can't stop looking at this skirt. Honestly! I just love the shape, the material, those brown boots! It is just my style. And sinse it is a petticoat, it can be worn UNDER other skirts, or on its own.
Four: Sew Dang Cute Crafts Charlotte Russe Inspired Skirt - When Tam found a skirt at Charlotte Russe that she loved but didn't buy because it was way too short, she decided she could recreate it at a more appropriate length. And by the looks of it, she succeeded! I love the peek-a-boo tulle at the bottom.
Great collection! I just started sewing and am working on my first pleated skirt that I found at Elle Apparel. I'm hoping to finish it this week so I can participate in the link up!
Hey Kim, I just wanted to let you know I'm having a terrible time getting your blog to load and there was a kind of pop-up ad. Could that be the problem?
I've been going back and forth with the whole ad thing. I noticed since adding them the load time has slowed down considerably. Not sure it is worth it! It is nice getting the extra money, but I also don't want to drive my readership away. ;) I've removed the ad that pops up along the bottom. When you get a chance would you mind stopping by again and seeing if that helped? Thanks for letting me know!
Below are a few of my most visited posts. I hope you enjoy looking around!
I try to host my parties for under $100. I want them to be festive and fun, but not break the bank! Most of my parties include free printables for your use. Please remember, they are for personal use only!
