Andrea from The Train To Crazy has come up with THE PERFECT dress pattern for us Mama's to girls.
It is the GO TO SIGNATURE DRESS Pattern and seems almost limitless in its options.
Seriously, with 3 lengths to choose from, 7 sleeve options, 4 different pocket options, 3 different ways to do the waist and an optional hood, you can customize this dress for your little princess! I haven't done the math, but I feel like there must be at least a hundred variations of this dress!
I personally fell in love with the maxi dress, and since I am still new to sewing clothes, I chose the super easy ruffle sleeve with elastic waist band and inset pockets.

{She really loves her pockets! She show's everyone, and "look! They're pink!"}
I'm pretty sure the hardest part about making this dress is cutting out the pattern. The full download is 40+ pages and I believe the pattern makes up 20, I know it sounds daunting, but it really isn't! Andrea was super smart and included an overview of the pattern and its page numbers which made matching everything up and getting it taped together super easy. The whole dress, start to finish, including cutting the pattern, took me 2.5 hours. It was totally worth it.
She loves to wear it and gets many compliments and I love that she makes sure to tell everyone, "My mommy made it!"
The pattern is just $10 and is available to purchase online at Andrea's shop, Go To Patterns.

And I think I forgot to tell you that the pattern goes from size 12 months all the way up to a size 12!
I guess I better get moving and make my oldest one now so her and her sister can actually match for once!

How cute! I know my daughter would love if I made her a dress. I love all of the dress options.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous - and I'm so excited, because I'm about to start making one tonight and I have the same fabric! I was trying to picture what it would look like, and had even considered doing the same pink pockets, so now I am even more excited knowing how great it looks. Thank you so much for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteLove the heart print fabric - so cute!! Thanks for sharing another option with this pattern!!
