I'm pretty sure most crafters are Sharpie® fans, am I right?  They are versatile and come in a wide variety of colors.  Case in point, just search Pinterest for Sharpie® Mug!  My love for Sharpies began in high school, where I doodled all over my backback and Chuck's, and it hasn't diminished in the 10+ years since!  I'm thinking I would have loved receiving a 12 pack of Sharpie® Markers in my stocking then as much as I would now (seriously, check out that eye candy).

4 Expecting A Baby is a Gift...

November 26, 2012

A gift that I will most likely not experience again.  However, I do get to live vicariously through my friends, right?  So when my friend Krista, who is due in March, asked me to help her create some wall art for her little girl's bedroom I was excited to say yes!

This is one version of our creation:

Peppermint Pattie Hot Cocoa with International Delight

November 19, 2012

I am not a coffee drinker, but that does not stop me from indulging during the Holiday season with a little International Delight!  Did you know that you can use ID Coffee Creamer to give a little kick to your Hot Cocoa too?  And what screams Holiday time more than peppermint?

You know that the season is upon us when you see the seasonal flavors in the International Delight freezer.  Unfortunately my grocer is a little behind schedule this year because they haven't put it out yet!  But don't fear, I was still able to make a yummy  Peppermint Pattie Hot Cocoa (instead of the Peppermint Mocha I had planned) using International Delights York Peppermint Pattie Creamer!

This is a favorite of my kids after playing outside in the cold Vermont winters.  They come inside and instantly ask for their hot cocoa and every now and again I will spike it with a little Peppermint zing.

1 Thanksgiving Feast - A Preschool Counting and Number Game

November 17, 2012

My daughter came home from daycare this week with a huge smile on her face and a small little baggie in her hand.  They have been learning all about Thanksgiving, including pilgrims, native americans and the first Thanksgiving Feast.  As a tie in, her daycare provider created this fun little counting and number game.  It could easily be dressed up, or created on the computer.

Operation Christmas Child - Help a Child in Need

November 12, 2012

Operation Christmas Child
This year my family decided to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a Charity run by Samaritan's Purse, International Relief (sidenote: even though this is a non-compensated, sponsored post, we had actually already packed the box and I took pictures with the intent of posting BEFORE I received the invite to participate). Basically, pack up a shoebox (or other similarly sized box) with items for a child located overseas, living in poverty. I felt like this would be a great organization to support, as well as be a great teaching moment for my children.

a little fall fun
We are well into Fall here in Vermont and one of the things my children love most about the cooler fall weather is the fact that they get to enjoy a good cup of cocoa.  It is one thing we love to do as a family.  Rake some leaves, maybe making a pile and jumping in a few during the process, and then as a way to celebrate the fact that we completed the task we head into the house for a cup of cocoa around the kitchen table.

4 Staying Organized

November 5, 2012

I have this little ole' bloggy you see, and even though I am usually a very organized person, I was not really doing anything to keep track of my growth, or my posts, or my ideas, or my giveaways.  I guess I could go on and on, but I won't.  My way of "staying organized" was filing emails in certain folders.  That was my only system.  A few months back Beckie from Infarrantly Creative shared the blog planner she created and I thought, "wow!  I should do something like that."  But then I didn't. Don't you just love when that happens?

1 Having fun with Greeting Cards

November 2, 2012

My nieces 6th Birthday was October 17 which was while we were in Florida.   Before we left I decided to create a really fun card for her and then have Mickey Mouse sign it.

I made sure to take a picture with him and the card and then mailed it home to her.
Both the card and the Mouse were a hit!
