Stuffed Nesting Doll

First I would like to announce the winner of the $50 Amazon Gift Card courtesy of Appliances Online:
a Rafflecopter giveaway
Congrats Heidi! Check your email.

Olivia, my 3 year old, has been having a hard time going to sleep at night. We have literally tried EVERYTHING. I finally changed her room around and let her have a say in the layout. I also made her a stuffed "Mommy" Nesting Doll with a pocket and a little baby she named "Ellie".  I'm not sure if either of these impacted her actually going and staying in bed, but we introduced the two on the same night and we've had pretty good luck since.

Crazy Hair for Crazy Kids

No comments:
It's that time of year again - Spirit Week at School.  My kids love when it hits. They get to wear PJ's to school, themed outfits, crazy hair. This year instead of a crazy hat, we went with crazy hair:

No Sew Sock Caterpillar

1 comment:
Sunday was a cold day here in Vermont. The kids and I stayed inside most of the day, so by late afternoon we were feeling a bit cooped up.  I decided we would do an arts and crafts project.
I reached deep and remembered a project I did as a child: a sock Caterpillar!

A Royal Thank You!

I'm so far ahead in planning my daughter's Sofia the First party, it really isn't even funny.
I can't stop!  And I keep thinking that I'll be gone for a week in March (hellloooo Jamaica and 10th Wedding Anniversary!), so really, I'm just making up for future lost time!
Anyway, Pick Your Plum had the cutest little gable boxes for sale a little while ago so I ordered enough to use as favor boxes for the party.  I decided I would label them with a cute Thank You label and came up with these:

Mustard Infinity Craft

2 comments:
The color, not the food.  I am! I have a mustard Kaboo bag, a mustard belt, mustard pillows in my family room.  I've had a chambray shirt for a while now and I've really wanted a mustard scarf but haven't been able to find one.  Right after Christmas I purchased a really cute Chambray shirt dress from Old Navy. I spruced it up with a brown leopard print belt and my brown riding boots.... but I still really wanted a cute scarf! I also just purchased a really cute navy blue stripped maxi skirt from The Chic Orchid.  I plan to wear with a white long sleeve shirt with it and again a mustard scarf would look so cute!

100 Days of School {Necklace}

2 comments:
My son is celebrating his 100th Day of Kindergarten on Monday.  Each kid was asked to bring in a collection of 100 items, as well as 100 small food items (goldfish, oyster crackers, etc).
They have made a whole unit out of it.
Mason and I brainstormed and decided on a necklace.  We thought of using beads and cheerios, but ultimately he decided on Froot Loops.  I made up some tags that we added to it where it ended with "100 days of school!"  You can download the file for the tags and use a 2" punch to create your own!

DIY Lottery Tickets

Before I get into today's project, I wanted to share that I am in support of  Blogger's Against Drunk Driving, or BADD.  I recently did a blog design for Kari at Newlyweds on a Budget. As I was installing her design I noticed her bio in the sidebar... she was hit by a drunk driver in June of last year while training for a half marathon.  After the install was complete I emailed Kari to tell her how much I was inspired by her and her courage, how amazing she is to have such an incredibly positive outlook on life, despite the horrible thing that happened to her.  I also mentioned that my my aunt was hit by a drunk driver when she was 12... getting off the school bus. The drunk driver that hit her was 19 years old.  A year later he got drunk again, jumped into a pool and is now quadrapalegic. It is a sad tale from beginning to end.  After chatting with Kari a bit more, she asked if I would be willing to help her spread awareness against drunk driving and she mentioned BADD.  I thought it was a great idea and created a logo and button for her use.  Today is dedicated to spreading that awareness. Kari has had guest bloggers at her blog all week sharing stories of how they have been effected by drunk driving. Please stop by and read those stories and share them with your friends and family, especially the younger generation.  Don't forget to become, or designate a DD, don't let your friends drive drunk!  Taking even one drunk driver off the road can save a life! Let's keep our families and roads SAFE but spreading the word that drunk driving is unacceptable!

Owl Always Love You {a baby shower}

2 comments:
I've been secretly helping plan a baby shower for a dear friend of mine and I've been having to sit on all the details because she reads this blog!  Now that the cat is out of the bag I get to share all of the fun with you!

Krista's SIL, Amanda, decided on an Owl theme since that is the theme Krista chose for the nursery.  We went with a chic purple, green and gray color scheme and I got to work designing the invites and other party decor.  I have made many of the items available for free download and the links will be included below!

These are the invites I designed (download blank version of invite):

My Little Lady Designs {a giveaway}

No comments:
So excited for today's giveaway - you should be too!
I first worked with Cara from My Little Lady Designs when I redesigned her blog.  Recently I found out that she has launched a new hand stamped pewter collection of jewelry and I fell in love with several of her pieces.  And the best part? They are absolutely affordable!

The Pewter Collection is hand cast in fine pewter and each pendant has a slightly different shape making them truly unique. Pendent sizes range from 7/8 inch to 1 1/4inch. They are substantial and have a bit of weight to them. They come with either a 16 or 18 inch sterling silver plated thick flat cable chain, fresh water pearl or Swarovski birthstone(s) and  range in price from $20 and up.
